We have been to SheWolf about 3 times and try to stop by whenever we are in Detroit! We had a late reservation (would recommend booking reservations in advance) after an event and it was fantastic, as usual. We ordered the fried artichoke appetizer, the homemade focaccia (along with one order to go), and the carbonara. The artichoke hearts were lemony and crispy. The vegetable plates change based on the season, so I'm not sure how long they will be on the menu but we would definetly recommend ordering if they're available. The homemade focaccia is the reason we always return, and it did not disappoint. The carbonara has improved- it is nice and peppery! Absolutely loved our meal and our waitress Miranda was helpful and kind. The ambiance of the restaurant is upscale, so I would dress up (business casual). There is usually paid public parking out front or in the area. We are looking forward to our next meal here!
I have a lot of thoughts. I would say I had overall a better wine experience than a food one. Regarding the food - the apps and pasta are just exceptional. The couple next to me literally asked if they could buy the pasta so they could make it at home. Amazing. I would say the main courses were only okay. Maybe that's because I don't eat red meat. But the wine and sommelier. Wow. Incredible. He hand wrote a list of all of the wines for me before I left. Also took my preferences into account the entire way. Ambiance exceptional Everyone well dressed Fun time But be warned regarding non-pasta entrees. I wish I could get a fun spendacciono (?) not sure how to spell that.. but alongside a pasta tasting menu. Maybe an exploration for future. Or even something I'm sure they would accommodate if explicitly asked. Fun time great somm.
Doris approved. Five stars. First off the service is everything, Jay was lovely. We went for a girlfriend's birthday. Dress up! You need a reservation. No valet parking. We ended up getting the chef set course. The whole table needs to do it or you cant. The photos do not capture all the food from that night. In my opinion completely worth it. Tons of wonderful food! lots of options all curated for the table! Four plates per course. Tip included as well as a " biscuit bag" to bake some biscuits- a take home gift. The ambience is dark and moody completely feel free to dress up or business casual. I wouldn't go there with ripped jeans. *Parking out front. The tab was around $800.00 for four people *120 dollar bottle of wine* Would I go all the time? No. But for a fun night or celebration...absolutely!
Totally awesome in every way. Also a - best in world must try - listed below. We opted for the tasting menu with the wine pairing, and it was an excellent choice which I would eagerly do again. First, the vibe and set up is open, cool, cozy, upbeat, traditional, buzzing and personal all at the same time. With the right company it could also be romantic. Each staff member I encountered was very happy to be there and very helpful. The food was fabulous. Tasty, delicious, creative, just the right amount, all of the many courses were served with a perfectly paired wine. The pistachio gelato was the best I have ever had and is likely the best in the world. Made in house - like most of the food - it was literally perfect. Plenty of parking,
My dinner at SheWolf had to be one of the best meals I have ever eaten, and I have traveled all over the world. The food here is not just good, it's exceptional. The flavors are rich and the portions are generous. The Amatriciana and the Carbonara were a delight, and the halibut with housemade potato chips was delicious. One of the unique features of this restaurant is the pre-dinner wine call. We had the pleasure of speaking with Mason, who recommended a wine that perfectly complemented our meal. It's a wonder why more restaurants don't offer this service. While the food was terrific, the outstanding service made this meal memorable for my husband and me. It says something about the positive work environment when every interaction with the staff was exceptional. Thank you to the whole staff, from the front of the house to the back, for such a fantastic dinner.
We had a fantastic experience at SheWolf! We did the chef curated dinner, which was such a fun surprise. There were four courses of delicious items and more than enough to satisfy our appetites! They took our dietary preferences, into consideration and were super accommodating. In the end, they brought out two delicious desserts. Loved the ambience of this restaurant, soft, lighting, and all the good vibes!
Listen this was one of my favorite meals in a while! Customer service: EXCELLENT! We came in about 30 minutes before close and they were welcoming and accommodating! Food: everything was delicious. I forgot the name but the seafood pasta was chefs kiss. Great wine recommendations as well. Ambiance: warm, cozy, and chic. Loved!
Five-Star Review of SheWolf: The Chef's Picks Experience OMG, y'all... SheWolf in Detroit is NEXT LEVEL. No cap, this might be one of the best meals I've had in my entire life--like, top tier, death row meal kinda stuff. My partner and I went for our anniversary, and we opted for the chef's picks. Lemme tell you, it was a wild ride of flavors and textures that legit had me SHOOK. It's not a tasting menu, but it felt like the ultimate flex from the kitchen, dropping all the fire dishes they've got and then some. Chef's kiss. Let's get into it: There was this pork chop--holy smokes--best pork chop I've ever had, like, ever. And it came with this perfectly seared scallop, with this crispy AF house-made potato chip on top, just vibing with a bean pasta salad situation underneath. IDK what kinda magic they're working back there, but it's elite. Then there was a pasta dish--maybe a ragu? I can't even remember because my mind was blown--but it had some braised beast, real hearty, real rich, straight-up comfort food vibes but, like, elevated beyond belief. They also hit us with this stuffed pasta wrapped up in a lil' flower shape, bathing in this insane green sauce. Unreal. Oh, and the pork cheek pasta?? Bro... the richness, the depth... I can't. It's impossible to put it into words, but trust me, it's chef-level food that will live rent-free in my mind forever. This whole menu was like one big 'you've never had anything like this before' moment, fr fr. For drinks, I got this mocktail that had ginger beer and apple syrup, and it had, like, this kick that almost made it feel like alcohol (but your boy's sober, so this was clutch). Super refreshing, super unique. 10/10. The service? Impeccable. The vibe was on point, and they even surprised us with dessert for our anniversary--gelato with chocolate sauce that had me in my feelings, and a chocolate hazelnut cake with a balsamic drizzle that had that perfect sweet-tang balance. Like, WHO DOES THAT? Anyway, major gratitude to SheWolf for making our anniversary one for the books. This was hands down a 5-star experience. If you're ever in Detroit and you don't pull up here, you're doing it wrong. Trust me.
Made a reservation for 3 on a Thursday night. Never been to shewolf before so didn't know what to expect. The restaurant was very open and airy. We were sat right away, and ordered beverages. Each cocktail was delish. We ordered a ton of apps and everything was amazing. Unique flavors that all complemented each other well. Our entrees came out shortly after, and were also delicious. My entree was super hot, but the other two were just warm, it didn't take away from the flavor but seemed like those two dishes were waiting for mine to finish. We finished off the evening with dessert. Over all the service, food and atmosphere made for a great night out. We will be back.
